This option allows you to control the amount of data this page attempts to load and when. 'Light' data mode is
suggested for those with slow or intermittent internet connections or users running a connection with a limited
data plan, while 'Heavy' is recommended for fast/stable connections with no concern of data overages.
This setting affects this page in the following manner;
Heavy: Every frame of data and mesoanalysis overlays are loaded when the page loads. At maximum, this means that nearly 400 images could potentially be called to load all at once. File sizes for each of these images are highly variable, but for data frames (vis/ir/wv/rad) range from ~20Kb to ~150Kb, while overlays are rather consistently are ~17Kb each frame. This means that total data on page load could roughly be as much as ~20Mb, and could total to ~240Mb/Hour (depending on refresh settings).
Moderate: Every frame of data and a selection of mesoanalysis overlays are loaded when the page loads. We limit preloading of overlays to 5 seperate products which the user can define by "Shift-Clicking" the overlay check boxes. This reduction of preloaded images reduces the MAX total data consumption per page load to ~16Mb or ~192Mb/Hour (depending on refresh settings). On average it will likely be closer to ~9Mb per page load, ~108Mb/Hour. This is likely the best setting for users with fast mobile connections who wish to limit their data usage as it can be configured to data usage very near to that of the 'Light' data mode while still allowing for smooth page performance.
Light: Only the current data frame is loaded on page load while all other frames for data and overalys are loaded on demand. This roughly reduces data cost on page load to ~200Kb, or 3Mb/Hour (depending on refresh settings).
If your preferred setting for this option is 'Light', you may also want to turn OFF this pages 'Auto-Refresh' feature and change 'Slider-Type' to 'Draggable' to avoid accidental interaction with the slider and requesting different frames when not desired.
Slider disabled while looping. "Stop" looping to enable slider.
